Overview Finance and Office Manager (Tapestry Church Network) The Tapestry Church is a church consisting of four campuses, located in Richmond, Vancouver and Coquitlam, BC. We are a multi-ethnic, multi-generational church centered in Christ. We are seeking a full-time Finance and Office Manager with experience in accounting and financial services. The Financial and Office Manager is responsible for the planning, directing, and coordinating of all accounting functions of the Tapestry Church network and will work with the Lead Pastor and the Treasurer of the Board of Elders. The Tapestry seeks a candidate who can demonstrate experience in accounting and financial management. Also, we seek a candidate who demonstrates an affinity with the values of the Church and looks to contribute to our church community in which flexibility, hospitality, and warmth are essential and valued. Areas of Responsibility The Finance and Office Manager will manage the budget creation and approval process, ensure accountable payments, and management of expenses against budget. Duties and responsibilities include: Accounts receivable Manage and accurately process donations received by the Tap network, including re-Authorized Giving, and donations on our Tap Giving app. Weekly offering count of physical donations (cheques and cash). Maintain accurate and up-to-date donation/donor records Reach out to donors periodically to address any donations issues or concerns Accounts payable Provide oversight to the Finance Administrator on staff to ensure timely payment of all invoices (including vendors, contractors, as well as ministry and staff reimbursement). On-going budget and profit/loss reports for ministry leaders. Honorarium tracking for T4As Payroll Maintain employee records Process payments to employees Review and file T4s, T4As. Banking Regular monitoring of funds for cash flow purposes; Monthly bank reconciliations Budget Prepare an annual budget with the Lead Pastor and the Treasurer for review at the Elder Board meeting in October. Financial statements In addition to the December 31 year-end statement, provide monthly financial statements for Elder Board and Campus Leadership Teams. Governance Work with the Pastor, Staff, and Elders to make operational decisions regarding the financial aspects of the Tapestry. Attend, when invited, select portions of the Tapestry Elder Board Meetings. Insurance Coordinate with the broker to renew annual Property and Liability insurance as well as Directors and Officers insurance. Investments Manage deposits and withdrawal of funds in investment portfolio; maintain proper internal records of investment results; Supervision Provide oversight and direction to the Finance Administrator Office Provide administrative support to the operation of the centralized office of the Tapestry Network Other Review and file annual Charity Return; Filing of GST rebate Issue Year End charity donation receipts Qualifications Successful candidates will have a combination of education and experience that demonstrates that they have a heart for the church and the mission of God. The candidate should have at minimum a bachelors degree in accounting, finance or a related field with 5 years accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit environment. An accounting degree would be preferred. They must have a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and solid experience with Quickbooks. We are looking for a person with strong administrative giftings who is strong at implementation to complement our staff team.
