Reports to: Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors Hours of Employment: 37.5 hours per week, full-time, between the hours of 9 am - 5 pm Location: Administrative Office at 104 Dawson Road, Guelph, ON, N1H 1A6, with some hybrid flexibility Compensation: CDN $150,000 - $183,500 per year, to commensurate with experience Opportunity Habitat for Humanity Guelph Wellington is looking for a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the affiliate who has passion for the Habitat for Humanity mission. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will provide strategic and operational leadership to the organization. Who We Are Habitat for Humanity Guelph Wellington is an affiliate member of Habitat Canada and associated with Habitat International. The affiliates mission is to bring together volunteers, donors and investors in partnership with Habitat families to achieve the benefits of home ownership. Our ReStores provide critical support to this mission and our communities. Through the construction of affordable homes, families attain social and financial stability to transform their futures and our community. Role Description As the Chief Executive Officer, you will represent the organization in the community by fostering strong relationships with project partners, investors, government and the community at large. In partnership with the Board of Directors, you will be responsible for determining strategy and, along with your team, be responsible for its execution, operational excellence and the financial success of the organization while promoting and fostering a culture of engagement, trust and respect. Key Responsibilities Strategic and Operational Leadership In partnership with the Board of Directors, lead the execution of the strategic plan which includes a systematic review of achievements and issues Lead the management of the organizations portfolio of projects including the supervision of staff responsible for project development and maintenance, recruitment and support of families, and resource development Encourage and support a culture of high performance, inclusivity and accountability within the organization Stakeholder and Community Engagement Build and maintain productive relationships with the City of Guelph, Centre Wellington Township, County of Wellington, Habitat Canada (including the Ontario Caucus) and the media Build and maintain productive partnerships with local builders, financial institutions and potential housing collaborators Build and maintain donor relationships Finance and Risk Management Oversee the management of the organizations finances in collaboration with the Finance/ Audit committee including oversight, reporting and forecasting Execute a robust risk management and regulatory compliance practice Lead strategic negotiations with stakeholders, partners and vendors Ensure affiliate remains in compliance with bylaws, rules and regulations, and contractual obligations of its stakeholders andul> Board Relations and Governance Advise and inform the Board in a timely manner of key strategic, financial and operational issues Support Board engagement in policy development, strategic planning and organizational oversight Expected Skills and Experience Previous experience as a Chief Executive Officer or a Senior Manager with responsibilities for building and managing a budget and supervising staff Previous experience with Familiar with an organizational culture focused on achieving success through innovation and community building Familiar with financial and construction practices particular to housing Familiar with governance practices, laws and regulations relevant to charities Familiar with federal, provincial and municipal policies and procedures regarding housing development Why Join us A meaningful opportunity to make a real difference in your local community The pride of being part of a highly respected, high profile global non-profit A stimulating, fast paced professional opportunity in a team of like-minded world-changers Comprehensive health and dental benefits Wellness initiatives including an EFAP plan Remuneration is competitive with comparable non-profit organizations in Guelph and Wellington County How To Apply Applicants are requested to submit a resume and cover letter outlining their qualifications and vision for the role.
