Manager, Special Accounts Location: Surrey, BC (Hybrid Monday & Friday in office; TuesdayThursday remote) Salary Range: $85k $100k CAD Full-Time | 35-Hour Work Week | Management Role Our client is seeking a Manager, Special Accounts to lead the day-to-day management of their Commercial Services Administration function and oversee the proactive management of non-performing and sub-standard retail and commercial credit. This is a newly created, high-impact leadership role supporting the Surrey head office branch. The Opportunity Reporting to the Director, Commercial Credit, you will: Credit & Collections Leadership Direct the management of delinquency, foreclosures, and loan recoveries Develop and maintain policies and procedures to mitigate credit and fraud losses Recommend restructuring solutions, loss provisions, and write-offs Escalate complex matters with sound, well-reasoned recommendations Relationship & Legal Coordination Guide branch staff to ensure timely and respectful engagement with delinquent members Work directly with members, commercial syndication partners, and legal counsel Manage foreclosure and litigation processes Balance financial recovery with member-focused solutions Review and ensure accuracy of monthly and quarterly delinquency and impairment reports Conduct post-loan reviews for retail and commercial facilities Identify risk trends and recommend remediation strategies Champion policy and process improvements across the organization This is a hands-on leadership role one direct report, but the majority of your day will involve managing complex accounts, navigating legal frameworks, and finding practical solutions in grey areas. What You Bring We are looking for an experienced lending professional with strong institutional knowledge and sound judgment. Required Experience: 79+ years of direct lending experience In-depth knowledge of Retail & Commercial Credit Strong collections and/or realization experience (required) Commercial lending experience (required) Prior management or supervisory experience strongly preferred Banking or Credit Union experience highly desirable Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of legislation including PPSA, Mortgage Act, Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, Interest Act, Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act, Bank Act, relevant Criminal Code provisions, and more Experience working with legal counsel on foreclosure and litigation matters Strong analytical, decision-making, and negotiation skills Proficiency with banking systems and reporting tools Personal Attributes: Confident communicator at all levels Practical, solutions-oriented thinker Agile, collaborative, and open to rolling up your sleeves Aligned with a values-driven, community-first approach Why Join Us?
