The opportunity This role will lead the development of the corporate fundraising plan for Ontario and manage a portfolio of corporate relationships. They will focus on developing partnerships with companies with head offices in Ontario to maximize revenue opportunities for the Foundation. The role is to source, qualify, cultivate and close new fundraising opportunities while supporting the activation and stewardship of existing partners to renewal to grow the business. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for developing and cultivating partnerships with corporations and brands that align with and will support the Foundation. The role will focus on sponsorships, causemarketing programs, corporate philanthropy and employee giving campaigns, while managing a large portfolio of clients. Please note that this role involves regular inperson donor and prospect meetings. Heart & Stroke is pleased to offer a hybrid work model that blends athome flexibility with weekly inperson collaboration. Candidates must be able to travel to the Toronto office when requested. How You Will Make An Impact Every Day Partnership identification and Revenue Development Create and manage a portfolio of approximately 75 corporate partners and prospects to generate revenue based on identified key Foundation products and priorities through corporate sponsorships, causerelated marketing efforts, employee engagement opportunities and corporate philanthropy. Conduct prospect research, identification and qualification with a goal of increasing annual growth of the portfolio of corporations capable of making annual contributions of $25,000 or more. Design and implement thoughtfully conceived and tailored strategies for solicitations including the development of proposals, presentations, call notes and donor recognition. Conduct facetoface partner meetings as needed. Actively solicit and secure corporate support including sponsorships for events and programs nationally and in Ontario. Oversee and steward relationships with key stakeholders, working in partnership with the CEO, EVP, VP Development and Provincial Advisory Board members. Secure, lead and conduct presentations and prospect meetings with assigned corporate accounts. Negotiate and develop agreements (multiyear where applicable) that accurately represent the scope of the partnership, accountability to the public and HSF, and payment schedules. Actively collaborate with various business units to strategize, develop proposals and presentations to secure new partners. Activation Support and Stewardship Create plans for each prospect and partner to ensure coordinated efforts regarding corporate accounts across the team. Support the development and implementation of bestinclass activations with and stewardship of partners by working collaboratively with Heart & Stroke business units including Development Services Team, Mission, Marketing, Communications and Community Fundraising. Identify and pursue opportunities for growth and expansion within existing relationships through the involvement of crossteam initiatives. Lead communications with corporate partners internally and externally to ensure the successful delivery of agreements and timely management of issues. Provide expertise and guidance to colleagues in other provinces regarding opportunities that may be crossprovincial with key accounts on best practices of cultivation, solicitation, activation and stewardship. Annual Planning In alignment with the organization and Development teams strategic plan, deliver on annual targets and achieve realized and campaign revenue goals in excess of $2M. Develop the annual and multiyear plan for Ontarios corporate partnership goals and objectives. Develop an annual budget, reviewing financial results and projections on a regular basis using reports, tools and process. Program Administration Track all prospecting and account management activities with partners in a CRM database and other reporting as required. Gather competitive information and identify potential opportunities and challenges in the corporate marketplace. Ensure adherence to the Corporate Partnerships policies and guidelines. Work with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate program administration including contract development, invoicing and tax receipting. Who We Need Education Postsecondary education in business administration, notforprofit fundraising and/or marketing. Experience 7 years of corporate fundraising experience working with a large national charity closing partnerships at the $50K level. Proven success in building networks and corporate relationships. Skills Ability to leverage contacts in the corporate marketplace and network to develop connections. Demonstrate the ability to anticipate potential issues and proactively resolve them through exceptional problemsolving skills. Demonstrated donor focus through the ability to anticipate partners needs and proactively search for solutions to ensure expectations are met or exceeded. Excellent project management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills. Solid understanding of business management practices, sales and marketing best practices, fundraising practices. Basic understanding of the Foundations fundraising and health promotion brands and products. Valid drivers licence and access to a vehicle.
