PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) is a General Partnership of Alberici, Amico, Kenaidan, and Obayashi, supported by design partners Egis, Mott MacDonald, and Weston Williamson + Partners. Together, we are delivering Accelerator, a major program of Pearson LIFT (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals), Toronto Pearson''s infrastructure development plan. This multi-year program is designed to address immediate passenger growth demands while preparing Canada''s largest airport for the future of air travelincluding critical upgrades to airfield and infrastructure, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, modernization of Terminals 1 and 3, and the creation of a world-class passenger experience. JOB SUMMARY The Sustainability Coordinator supports the planning, implementation, and monitoring of sustainability initiatives for the Pearson Accelerator Construction Team (PACT). This role ensures compliance with sustainability requirements, and advances GTAA''s sustainability goals. The Sustainability Coordinator will work closely with construction teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders to integrate sustainability requirements within the entire construction value chain, from planning, procurement, construction and reporting. They will work cross-functionally with departments to ensure sustainability KPIs are being fulfilled. The role calls for understanding, assessing, monitoring and reporting sustainability metrics for assigned construction project. RESPONSIBILITIES Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Sustainability Management Plan (SMP)and related procedures. Monitor compliance to sustainability requirements, and sustainability certifications (e.g., LEED, Envision, Zero Carbon Building Standard). Assist with procurement, reporting, and documentation. Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to embed sustainable practices into construction activities. Track and report on waste diversion, material sourcing, energy use, water consumption, and other sustainability metrics. Coordinate sustainable procurement efforts, including lowcarbon materials and responsible suppliers. Collect, analyze, and maintain sustainability data for internal dashboards and external reporting. Prepare documentation for certification submissions and client sustainability requirements. Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement based on project performance. Deliver training sessions to promote sustainability on site. Support internal sustainability initiatives, including carbon reduction strategies and corporate ESG goals. Foster a culture of sustainability stewardship across project teams. Research emerging technologies, materials, and best practices in sustainable construction. Recommend improvements to processes, policies, and project workflows. Participate in pilot projects and sustainability innovation initiatives. WORKING CONDITIONS The position will be based at our office in Mississauga, Ontario, with regular visits to the Airport site as required. This position is 5 days per week with core hours of work between approximately 8:00am5:00pm with 1 hour lunch or as agreed upon with your manager. All employees must complete a RAIC and Criminal background check upon joining the company. DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES Diploma or degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or related discipline. 5+ years of experience in sustainability coordination, monitoring, or compliance within construction or infrastructure projects. Familiarity with green building rating systems (LEED, Envision, etc.) is an asset. Experience with infrastructure or large-scale transportation projects is an asset. Experience supporting sustainable procurement and low-carbon material strategies is an asset. Understanding of carbon accounting and embodied carbon assessment for construction projects is an asset. Experience conducting environmental monitoring, inspections, and audits. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and manage documentation. Proactive problemsolver with strong organizational skills.
