Back to all jobs at Ketek Group Inc Wiring Technician POSITION BACKGROUND: The Wiring Technician supports the assembly, wiring, and build-out of electrical control panels and related equipment. This is a shop-based position and the role focuses on performing electrical wiring, terminations, component installation, and general assembly work under the direction of Journeyman Electricians, Engineering, and Shop Supervisors. The Wiring Technician is not a ticketed electrical role but is expected to bring prior experience in control panel wiring, industrial electrical assembly with the ability to interpret drawings, sketches and electrical systems specifications This position requires safe work practices at all times and that the ISO 9001 Quality System guidelines are followed. CORE DUTIES: Daily Operations Perform control panel wiring, including point-to-point wiring, cable routing, dressing, and terminations Install electrical components including PLCs, HMIs, relays, terminal blocks, sensors, switches, and power supplies Assist with installation of motors, VFDs, transformers, and associated wiring under supervision Perform cable pulling and internal panel wiring Assemble and install conduit, wireways, and raceways as required Follow electrical drawings, schematics, and layout plans for panel builds Keep accurate records of assembly hours and materials used Mark up drawings to reflect any field or shop modifications Support Journeyman Electricians and Engineering during panel builds and troubleshooting Maintain quality workmanship consistent with Ketek standards Other Duties May be required to complete work tasks outside of the typical scope Perform routine housekeeping duties in shop and yard areas Assist with material handling and organization Cooperate with Training department for required safety and skills training Observe all safety procedures and use required PPE Follow all Ketek work procedures, policies, and OH&S regulations Represent Ketek in a manner consistent with company values and Corporate Mission Statement Duties, responsibilities and activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: Required Fluent in the English language (reading, written, spoken) Previous experience wiring electrical control panels in an industrial or commercial environment Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layout drawings Strong hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity Comfortable using hand tools, basic power tools, and shop equipment Basic electrical knowledge related to control systems and panel wiring practices Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship Preferred Experience with PLC panels, VFD panels, and industrial control systems Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems Forklift, manlift, or overhead crane experience WORKING CONDITIONS: Physical Demands Regularly required to stand/sit, talk/hear, stoop, climb, lift, balance, kneel and use of hands/fingers to operate tools, machinery and materials Moderate to heavy lifting (up to 50lbs) may be required Use of mechanical aids: overhead crane, forklift, pallet jack, and dolly may be required Regular exposure to loud noises.
