Senior ERP Project Manager - HRIS10 month remote contractOur client is embarking on a Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and payroll replacement project to modernize its HR and payroll operations. The goal is to replace its outdated, manual, and fragmented processes (many currently managed through manual processes using disconnected systems) with a fully integrated, automated HRIS solution. This new system will encompass Core HR, Payroll, Time & Attendance, Benefits administration, Onboarding, Dashboards/Reporting, and Compensation management, all with robust employee self-service capabilities. By introducing a single, modern platform (including mobile-friendly self-service access), the customer aims to eliminate duplicate data entry and manual workflows, improve reporting and compliance, and empower employees and managers with direct access to HR and payroll information. This HRIS initiative is a top priority to enhance efficiency and data accuracy, so they are seeking a skilled Project Manager to drive its success.Our client is seeking a Project Manager to lead and coordinate the HRIS implementation on their behalf. This Project Manager will act as the primary liaison between the customer team and the chosen HRIS vendor, ensuring smooth communication and alignment. Internally, the Project Manager will work closely with the HR Director, HR Business Partner, and Payroll Clerk (core HR team). The Project Manager will own the project plan and keep it on track, managing timelines, scope, and budget to meet the target go-live date.Key responsibilitiesDetailed project scheduling and milestone tracking and status reportingFacilitating regular project meetings between the customer and the HRIS vendorCoordinate requirements gathering and validation, making sure the business needs (e.g. integrating with finance software and ensuring compliance with Canadian payroll standards) are clearly communicated and addressedManage change requests and issue escalation/resolution on behalf of the customer, proactively identifying risks or obstacles and working with the vendor to mitigate themOversee data migration and system testing from the customer side, organize training and user acceptance testing for HR/payroll staff, and ensure the necessary documentation and support processes are in place for a successful cutoverDrive the HRIS project from kickoff to go-live, coordinating all moving parts to ensure the new system is delivered successfully and meets the customers objectivesThe customer is looking for a seasoned Project Manager with experience leading similar HRIS or digital HR transformations particularly someone who has guided organizations in transitioning from manual processes to modern automated systems with employee self-serviceExperience in managing HR/payroll system vendors and juggling both internal stakeholder needs and external deliverables will be crucialYou should have a proven track record in delivering HRIS implementations or comparable enterprise software projects on time and on budgetStrong project governance (scope/schedule/quality control), excellent communication skills to bridge between the HR team and the solution provider, and the foresight to anticipate challenges in a complex HR/payroll system rolloutACCESSIBILITYWere committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and accessible workplace where every team member feels valued, respected, and supported, and has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
