Description The University of Calgary, Faculty of Nursing is seeking Sessional Nursing Instructors to teach undergraduate level courses for the Spring Term (May/June) and Summer Term (June/July/August) as follows. Successful applicants are required to be available during the entire term. Applicants should specify the name of course(s) for which they would like to be considered for. Spring Semester Lectures: (May/June) NURS517 Philosophy and Practice in Palliative Care NURS550 Promotion Health in Vulnerable Populations NRSG 203 Anatomy and Physiology (Lecture & Lab) Summer Semester Lecture: (June 29-Aug 12) NRSG 204 - Anatomy and Physiology II (Lecture & Lab) We are seeking applicants, particularly those with previous nursing education practice experience. Practice education takes place both on campus and online. Scheduling varies and may include a combination of days and evening shifts, Monday through Friday. Sessional Instructors are provided with exceptional orientation, mentorship, and ongoing professional development. The amount of remuneration is calculated according to the Collective Agreement, Schedule B. Teaching Responsibilities: Work effectively with groups of students on-campus or in online settings Participate in team meetings related to the practice course and faculty governance Participate in student assessment and evaluations Seek excellence in teaching by applying various teaching strategies and working with colleagues Encourage and foster an environment of inquiry and valuing of evidence informed practice Qualifications: Candidates must be eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (course dependent). A Masters degree is preferred, although candidates with BN/BScN preparation will be considered.
