Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Digital Media Specialist to join our client's team on a contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for capturing and editing high-quality video content for educational and promotional projects. The successful candidate will possess advanced technical skills in camera operation, lighting, and sound, paired with the ability to transform raw footage into compelling final products. You will act as a key contributor to the visual storytelling process, ensuring all content meets the project vision while effectively communicating the desired message to the audience.This is a 6-month contract, which will involve travel primarily across North America. Talent will be expected to use their own equipment for this role. Pre and post production work can be completed from your home office.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the team to understand project objectives, requirements, creative direction, and feedback.Plan video shoots, including the development of storyboards and scheduling.Operate cameras, lighting, and audio equipment during shoots to ensure professional-grade production (talent must provide their own equipment).Capture high-quality footage that aligns strictly with the creative brief and project vision.Edit raw footage into polished final videos using professional editing software.Enhance video quality by applying colour correction, basic colour grading, sound balancing, and light motion graphics.Integrate creative elements such as music, graphics, subtitles, closed captioning, and special effects as required.Deliver final assets in the specific formats and resolutions needed for various digital platforms.Manage and organize video files, ensuring diligent backups and proper archiving of all project data.Maintain equipment to ensure it is properly stored and in good working order.Stay current with technology by keeping up-to-date with new tools and techniques in the videography industry.RequirementsProfessional Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a videographer with a proven track record in film or video production.Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in camera operation, lighting, sound recording, and professional video editing software.Industry Expertise: Experience working with corporate clients and filming at construction worksites.Directorial Skills: Demonstrated ability to direct talent and subjects being filmed to achieve the best performance.Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.Project Management: Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced manner.Artistic Vision: A strong understanding of visual storytelling and the creative ability to bring abstract ideas to life, as demonstrated in a portfolio of work.Travel & Logistics: Must have a valid passport and the ability to travel to project sites across the U.S., Canada, or Europe.Equipment: Talent is required to provide their own professional video and audio equipment for this role.Are you a visual storyteller ready to bring projects to life?
