VP of Finance Brodie Rec. Our mission is to make every league night the best night of the week for our athletes. ROLE OVERVIEW The VP of Finance is the architect of Brodie Leagues financial engine. This is a high-impact executive role for a strategic, detail-driven finance leader who thrives on scaling fast-growing companies, building systems, and translating numbers into smart decisions. You will oversee all financial strategy, planning, reporting, compliance, and forecasting across the company. You will partner directly with the CEO and COO to ensure Brodies growth is sustainable, profitable, and future-proofed. Your mission: build a world-class financial infrastructure that supports Brodie Leagues expansion, protects the business, and fuels long-term success. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Financial Leadership Own Brodie Leagues full financial strategy and long-term financial roadmap Translate company goals into forecasts, budgets, and investment plans Provide financial insights to guide major decisions around expansion, hiring, pricing, and partnerships Build modeling frameworks to stress-test scenarios and support executive planning Financial Planning & Analysis Lead budgeting for all departments and locations Track performance against targets and provide actionable insights Build season-over-season revenue, margin, and cost models Analyze profitability by location, product line, and initiative Accounting, Controls & Compliance Oversee all accounting processes, monthly closes, and financial reporting Ensure compliance with Canadian and U.S. tax regulations Build and enforce internal controls that safeguard company assets Manage audits, filings, and legal financial requirements Cash Flow, Capital & Risk Management Own company-wide cash flow management, ensuring financial stability Identify risks early and build plans to mitigate them Manage capital needs from financing to strategic planning Maintain strong relationships with banks, advisors, and financial partners Leadership & Team Development Build and lead Brodies finance team Mentor future financial leaders and own performance management within the department Work cross-functionally with Operations, Marketing, Tech, and HR Ensure financial literacy across the leadership team through clear communication and training REQUIREMENTS 7+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership roles Proven success scaling financial systems in a high-growth or multi-location business Deep experience with FP&A, accounting standards, and financial modeling Strong understanding of cash flow, forecasting, and risk management Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complexity into clarity CPA or CFA designation preferred 5 days in office at our Toronto HQ Brodie has thrived due to a culture of collaboration and teamwork in office COMPENSATION DISCLOSURE The expected annual compensation range for this role is between $150,000 and $200,000 CAD. Compensation is based on skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and business needs. The compensation range may be adjusted in the future.
