About the Role We''re a small environmentally-focused landscape gardening company based in East Vancouver looking for someone who can help us 2-4 days a week from 7:30-4 Monday to Thursday. During the busy season (April to June) more days are available to those with sufficient experience. We use battery-powered maintenance equipment to promote a cleaner, more peaceful landscaping experience for staff and customers. The most important things are to be communicative, self-directive, use good judgment, and have strong interpersonal skills because you will be working with other staff and interacting with clients on a regular basis. If you''re closer to entry level, the wage would start at or closer to $22 an hour and you''ll be given raises as you grow in knowledge and skills. If you''re very experienced, your wage will be at or closer to $30 an hour. Cost-shared benefits are available for those working 3+ days. We''re looking for someone with: Good judgment, organization, and problem-solving skills. An ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Good physical stamina and an ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift. An ability to work with hand tools, small engine equipment, and materials. An ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Plant knowledge or a strong commitment to learning, and a keen interest in landscape gardening is important. A driver''s license is an asset but not essential. A positive attitude is a must. Decent strength and physical fitness is also important given the nature of the work. Responsibilities and Duties: We do a lot of different things so there''s quite a bit of variety to our days. Sometimes we''re weeding or mulching, other times we''re doing garden installations or renovations.
