Urgent Care Veterinarian - Galaxy Vets Urgent Care & Walk-In: Ottawa Located at 21 Jamie Avenue in Nepean, Ontario - Galaxy Vets Urgent Care & Walk-In is a part of the Galaxy Vets family, a new employeeowned veterinary healthcare system with a mission to give Veterinary Medicine back to Veterinary Professionals. Our urgent care model provides an engaging caseload, focusing on Urgent Care and Emergency cases and we are looking to add another DVM to our team! The Perks Participation in the Companys Employee Ownership Trust Profit Share Bonus Base pay + Team Production Bonus (25%) 3 shifts/week (36 hours) + virtual team meetings Full Medical/Dental benefits with Canada Life Paid Time Off Paid annual licensing & membership dues Staff Discount CE Allowance The Candidate Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited university Licensure in good standing to practice in the province of Nova Scotia Interested in learning more about Business Acumen and Ownership The Position Medical Perform physical examinations, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for each individual patient Review and analyze lab results and diagnostic records Perform surgical intervention as needed (Pyometra, Foreign Body, Cystotomy, being the most common) Transition patients to overnight care as needed and communicate effectively with referral hospitals in order to ensure continuity of patient care Document patient medical and surgical records with detail Develop a rapport with clients, understand their desires, clearly communicate plans and findings Leadership Promotes teamfirst and transparent practices that allow candor and feedback Mentors and maintains a healthy hospital culture motivated to excel Aligns with Companys Core Values: Founders Mindset, Sees the Bigger Picture, Always Evolving, Lead with Integrity, Sense of Humor Joins and engages in team meetings as required to ensure consistent communication and transparency Interested or have questions?
