About the Role The Data team at Solink builds and maintains a growing ecosystem of data infrastructure and integrations that power core analytics, reporting, and customer-facing features. As a Senior QA Automation Engineer on the Data team, you will take a leadership role in defining, building, and scaling automated testing for data integrations, pipelines, and cloud infrastructure. This role is highly handson and strategic. You will own automation efforts across backend services, data pipelines, APIs, and supporting UI workflows, while partnering closely with Data Engineers, Product Managers, and other QA team members to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and scalability across Solinks platform. What Youll Do Automation & Test Strategy - Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated test coverage for data integrations, data pipelines, and supporting infrastructure. - Identify automation opportunities across feature development, regression, and infrastructure testing, and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines where applicable. - Define and evolve datafocused test strategies to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and reliability across systems. Data & Infrastructure Testing - Test backend systems including REST APIs, eventdriven services, and serverless infrastructure such as AWS Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, Kinesis, and S3. - Validate data pipelines, ETL processes, and transformations, ensuring correctness across large datasets and integrations. - Perform SQLbased data validation and analysis to confirm data consistency and expected behavior. Quality Leadership & Collaboration - Take ownership of test planning, execution, and risk identification for Datarelated initiatives. - Work closely with Data Engineers throughout the development lifecycle to advocate for quality and shift testing left. - Mentor and coach junior QA and QA Automation Engineers, contributing to overall framework quality and team growth. Technology Stack - Automation: Python, Pytest, Playwright - API & Data Testing: Postman, SQL - Test Management: Testmo - Dev & Collaboration: GitHub, Jira - Infrastructure: AWS serverless and cloud services, Linux environments What You Bring - 5+ years of experience in QA automation, with a strong focus on backend and dataheavy systems. - Strong proficiency in Pythonbased automation frameworks (Pytest, Playwright). - Experience testing data pipelines, APIs, and cloudbased distributed systems. - Handson experience validating data using SQL. - Proven ability to independently drive test strategy, planning, and execution. Soft Skills - Ownership mindset with the ability to lead QA efforts without heavy oversight. - Strong problemsolving skills and comfort working in fastpaced, evolving environments. - Clear communicator who collaborates effectively with engineering and product partners. Security Requirements - Candidates must undergo a criminal records check upon hire. - Be a Canadian Citizen (dual citizens included) or eligible to work in Canada. - Be willing to comply with Solinks own security policies and standards.
