Camp Towhee/Towhee Summer Therapeutic Program treats youth with mental health issues complicated by learning disabilities. Located in Haliburton, Ontario, Towhee positively changes the trajectory of kids and staff lives. This role includes 12 days of training covering behaviour management, counselling skills, CPI, mental health and learning disabilities. Who we need The successful candidate should be a relationship builder and team player, with a passion for understanding and supporting children/youth and a willingness to learn about the impacts of mental health and learning disabilities. The candidate should also have experience in administration, specifically in regard to answering phone calls and emails, organizing documents, and supporting the operation of a daily schedule. Under the direction of the Camp Director, the Office Administrator will be responsible for overseeing the efficient running of the camp office and timed transitions between periods for campers. This role also has many opportunities to get involved with the campers, which will sometimes be required depending on camp needs and the office administrators skills. You will 1. Providing administrative support services (typing, answering phones, emailing, ordering supplies, driving to and from town, printing, organizing, and distributing mail, etc.). 2. Ensuring timely transitions between program periods for campers (ringing the bell as needed to signal the beginning and ending of programs and activities). 3. Organizing and managing the Camp Towhee office. 4. Coordinating transportation and ordering busses. 5. Greeting and directing visitors and volunteers. 6. Assisting the directors and other supervisors and staff in managing day to day camp operations. 7. Scheduling of staff coverage. 8. Assistance with photography and social media. 9. Participation in camp activities with campers as needed/able. You bring - Two (2) or more years in a post-secondary degree or equivalent experience. - Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Personal, professional, or educational experiences in administrative duties. - Previous professional experience working at Towhee or a related program within a camp environment, strongly preferred. - Experience working with children and/or youth, preferably our demographic. - Ability to assume responsibility and exercise good judgment within the scope of authority of the position. - Must have a current and valid police record check with vulnerable sector screening. - Bronze Cross swimming qualifications or higher, strongly preferred. - Standard First Aid with CPR C. - Demonstrated ability to work in a respectful and aware manner with groups from diverse backgrounds and experiences. - G-Driver's License with clear abstract preferred; F-Class License a significant asset. Working Conditions - Governed by concurrent and dynamic deadlines, with conflicting priorities and frequent interruptions. - Fast-paced work environment. - Interacts with campers, staff, and visitors daily. - Regular to frequent physical requirements, including bending, stooping, stretching, squatting, pushing and pulling, and occasional climbing stairs. - Noise level can be moderate to loud. Camp dates and contract - Camp dates are as follows: - Supervisors Training: June 1517 - Departure date: June 18; Transportation from Toronto to Towhee will be provided - Pre-Camp, All Staff Training: June 1930 - Session 1: July 417 - Session 2: July 20August 2 - Session 3: August 518 - Staff onsite for Cleanup: August 18 12:00 PM until August 20 5:00 PM; Transportation from Towhee to Toronto will be provided - Contract Period - Start date: June 14, 2026 - Contract end date: August 20, 2026 - Compensation: $3,900 for the term of employment, including a base salary of $2,400 and a completion bonus of $1,500 at the end of the contract.
