The Welland Jackfish are looking for a Merchandise / Retail Lead to run our merch game and help fans gear up in style all season long! Organization: Welland Jackfish Baseball Club Location: Welland, Ontario Term: Seasonal (Baseball Season) Reports To: Director, Ticket Experience & Merchandise Position Summary Role Overview: The Seasonal Merch Lead is the right hand to the Ticket Experience Merchandise, Director who executes merchandise sales during gamedays. Your mission is to own the physical execution of the retail experience during the heat of the season. You are responsible for transforming the inventory into a high-energy, high-revenue fan experience at the stadium and selling merchandise to all fans. Key Responsibilities Retail Operations Lead all game-day and event-day merchandise operations at Welland Jackfish home games and special events Open, operate, and close merchandise locations, including cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) systems Ensure merchandise displays are clean, organized, and visually appealing Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking and merchandising Supervise, train, and support seasonal merchandise staff and volunteers Assign duties and schedules for game days and special events Provide on-the-floor leadership during games to ensure excellent customer service Assist with onboarding and training of new merchandise staff Assist with receiving, counting, and organizing incoming merchandise shipments Track sales and inventory usage during the season Report low inventory, popular items, and sales trends to management Assist with end-of-season inventory counts and storage Customer Experience Deliver friendly, engaging, and professional service to fans of all ages Handle customer inquiries, exchanges, and issues in a positive manner Act as a brand ambassador for the Welland Jackfish at all times Qualifications & Skills Previous retail or customer service experience required Comfortable handling cash and using POS systems Strong communication and leadership skills Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented Passion for sports and fan engagement is an asset Working Conditions Evening and weekend availability required, including all home games Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs Work primarily outdoors and in stadium retail environments Fields marked with an * are required.
