Job Description

As a Business Development Director, the individual is responsible for achieving sales objectives for individual investment solutions for the MGAs and brokers that are assigned to him/her in the territory. Insurance sales objectives in this role, the Business Development Manager must have strong business relationships as well a demonstrated customer focus. The candidate will be responsible for business development across the province of Ontario, working closely with their Sales Associate to grow the territory and strengthen relationships with key distribution partners. The individual investment component is predominant in this territory and in-depth knowledge of individual investment products is required. Basic knowledge of individual insurance products is an asset. The candidate must be a dynamic and enthusiastic individual with strong problemsolving skills. The candidate will play a key role in the sales and marketing team and will implement innovative solutions to achieve their goals. Qualifications 5-7 years of experience in financial services and insurance, including sales of investment products. University or college diploma in Business Administration or a related field. Strong knowledge of distribution networks, including MGA networks; familiarity with CapIntel is an asset. Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English; French is an asset. Proven sales, negotiation, networking, and relationshipbuilding skills, with strong interpersonal abilities and a resultsdriven mindset. Strong organizational and technical skills, including MS Office proficiency; experience with presentations, workshops, and social media platforms is an asset. Responsibilities Achieve or exceed goals on sales calls, appointments, meetings, and sales targets. Implement a longterm sales development strategy for the line of business. Maintain and develop relationships with our distributors, who are our MGAs and our advisors. Implement a sale and retention strategy with our distributors. This strategy will include appointments to discuss their needs, make presentations to advisors, etc. Produce weekly sales reports. Proactively contact existing advisors to educate them about individual investment products at Assumption Life and how they could use the product line to grow their business. Find new advisors and distribution opportunities. Provide support to advisors in terms of business development and to add value to our distribution networks.
