Position Overview Faculty/Academic Area: Lazaridis School of Business & Economics Department: Lazaridis Economics Campus: Waterloo Employee Group: WLUFA Requisition ID: 10642 The Lazaridis School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University invites applications for one twelvemonth Limited Term Appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor commencing May1,2026, and one or more twelve or twentyfourmonth Limited Term Appointments at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor commencing July1,2026 or later. The position/s are subject to final budgetary approval. Responsibilities Duties primarily include undergraduate teaching, but may include graduate teaching. Applicants in all fields will be considered with preference given to candidates with expertise in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and/or econometrics. Qualifications Qualified candidates should hold a PhD in Economics or be close to completion (i.e., able to defend by July1,2027). Preference will be given to candidates who show evidence of a commitment to scholarship and excellence in teaching. About the Institution The Lazaridis School of Business & Economics has over 150 fulltime faculty and more than 6,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The Economics Department is located on the Waterloo campus, and as of July2025 consists of 26 tenured or tenuretrack faculty. The faculty maintain an active research profile publishing in top tier journals, and hold competitive research grants, and editorial positions at academic journals.
