Job descriptionEngineering & Technical DeliveryImplement and support enterprise disaster recovery and business continuity solutions used across federal systems, including GDPS, XRC, PPRC, and controller‑based replication.Troubleshoot complex performance issues using advanced z/OS diagnostics and monitoring tools (SMF, RMF, GTF), ensuring continuous availability of GC applications and services.Administer IBM and HDS enterprise storage systems and virtual tape platforms (IBM TS7700, Oracle VSM7) within protected government networks.Execute secure and compliant data migrations using TDMF and other enterprise‑grade tooling while maintaining GC data integrity requirements.Support modernization initiatives aligned with Government of Canada digital transformation mandatesQuality, Compliance & Continuous ImprovementDevelop, maintain, and update operational procedures, platform standards, and installation guides to satisfy GC audit, compliance, and documentation expectations.Recommend and implement improvements to strengthen system stability, performance, resiliency, and security, ensuring adherence to GC directives (e.g., ITSG‑33, Treasury Board policies).Provide internal knowledge sharing, cross‑training, and mentoring to team members, government stakeholders, and cross‑functional partners.Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement while upholding the security, privacy, and governance standards required for federal environments..Required profileCandidate must posses a government of Canada security ClarenceRequired Skills & Experience:10+ years experience with IBM mainframe systems programming (TSO, ISPF, JCL, z/OS utilities).10+ years experience with IBM DFSMS storage management products.10+ years configuring and applying hardware definitions using IBM HCD.10+ years applying maintenance to z/OS products using SMP/E.Strong expertise in troubleshooting using SMF, RMF, and GTF.Advanced experience with mainframe backup and recovery tools (FDR, DFDSS).Proficiency with data migration solutions (TDMF).Hands-on administration of IBM and HDS enterprise storage platforms.Familiarity with ITIL Change Management practices.Excellent communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical teams.Proven success collaborating on large projects and meeting deadlines in complex environments.Candidate must possess L2 Government of Canada Security ClearancePreferred Qualifications:Experience installing and maintaining third‑party ISV software (CA, BMC, Compuware, etc.).Experience providing user support, requirements validation, and conflict resolution.Strong history of delivering knowledge transfer and team training.Background supporting federal government or similarly scaled enterprise environments. Youll work within highly regulated, security‑focused infrastructures—supporting modernization initiatives, adhering to GC compliance frameworks, and ensuring uninterrupted operations for mission‑critical public services.Operation Support & AdministrationManage day‑to‑day mainframe storage operations across GC‑hosted z/OS environments aligned with SSC and departmental requirements.Install, configure, and maintain z/OS storage software products (DFSMS, FDR, DFDSS, etc.) in accordance with Government of Canada security and change‑control protocols.Administer catalog structures, SMS constructs, storage groups, and HCD definitions while ensuring compliance with GC configuration baselines.Participate in an on‑call rotation to support 24/7 government operations, responding to incidents, RFCs, and service tickets with urgency and accuracy.Work within ITIL‑based service delivery models commonly adopted in GC environments.What we offerSalary: $102,020 - $152,020The above represents Kyndryls pay range for this role.Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role. The range provided reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting.
