Job Description

LightForm has a career opportunity for an Junior Purchaser who will assist with Operational Support. As part of LightForms Operations team, you will be responsible for acquiring and shipping goods, and communicating with our Vendors, Sales teams, and Accounting teams. A key component of this role will involve arranging logistics from vendors and dealing with customs.You will also support the Operations Manager, Accounting, and Customer Service team with purchase information changes and other financial nuances as they relate to product purchasing. Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication and time management skills with a keen eye for detail. An ability to manage and interpret complex data is critical.ResponsibilitiesCreate and send purchase orders within Lightforms ERP systemCommunicate with vendors for order confirmations, shipping dates, package details, and ready-to-ship datesCommunicate with accounting departments to confirm deposits, balance of payments, or pending invoices/duesArrange for shipping from vendors and fulfill the ordersCommunicate and coordinate with brokers for customs clearanceArrange shipping from LightForm stores to clientsProvide LightForm Sales Reps with shipping quotesContact vendors for latest price lists and updatesCalculate freight costs on item landed costsRespond to emails and tasks as quickly as possibleNegotiate with freight forwarders for better ratesWork with LightForm Customer Service on Returns, VRMAs, and RMAsQualifications1 year of experience with purchasing both domestic and foreignExperience with NetSuite or a similar ERP systemExperience shipping with FedEx and other (inter)national carriersExperience with and knowledge of customs proceduresExcellent computer skillsExcellent verbal and written communications skillsExcellent negotiation skillsAbility to work independently and with a teamStrong organization skills and attention to detailKnowledge and proficiency with inventory management softwareAbility to communicate in Spanish or Italian considered an assetCompensationLightForm offers a competitive total compensation package and looks to provide developmental opportunities for our employees whenever possible.About LightFormLightForm is a young and dynamic team of design-driven sales and support staff who help Canada's interior design and architecture professionals light their residential, commercial, and hospitality projects.
