Corporate Controller Location: Calgary, AB Type: Full-Time Start Date: As soon as possible Sideworx Connect is a growing staffing and logistics company providing workforce solutions across Western Canada. Operating in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, we support clients across multiple industries with a focus on reliability, compliance, and operational excellence. As we continue to scale, we are seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to lead our accounting, payroll, and financial reporting functions while providing strategic financial insight to leadership. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Accounting Own the full-cycle accounting process, including month-end and year-end close Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP Maintain integrity of the general ledger, trial balances, and all balance sheet and income statement accounts Ensure timely and accurate account reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly Support year-end audit processes and act as the primary liaison with external accountants and advisors Payroll, Compliance & Government Filings Oversee payroll accounting and reporting in a high-volume staffing environment Ensure accurate and timely statutory remittances and government filings, including HST, payroll taxes, T4s, ROEs Act as backup support for payroll processing when required Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and provincial legislation and employment standards Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting in partnership with executive leadership Prepare cash flow forecasts and weekly cash reporting Analyze labour costs, gross margins, and profitability by client, contract, division, or region Provide actionable financial insights to support pricing strategies, staffing models, and operational decision-making Cash Flow, Banking & Working Capital Monitor cash flow, working capital, and collections to support ongoing operations and growth Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes Maintain banking relationships and support financing arrangements, covenant reporting, and lender requirements as needed Systems, Controls & Process Improvement Develop, maintain, and continuously improve internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures Lead or support accounting system optimization, ERP upgrades, and reporting enhancements Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability as the business grows Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and payroll team Review work, provide guidance, and ensure adherence to strong internal controls and best practices Collaborate closely with operations, HR, dispatch, and executive leadership to align financial strategy with business objectives Qualifications & Experience CPA designation strongly preferred Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility Experience in staffing, construction, logistics, or other labour-intensive industries considered a strong asset Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. payroll, tax compliance, and financial reporting Experience with accounting systems (QuickBooks or similar; ERP experience an asset) Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate in a fast-paced environment Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills What We Offer Competitive compensation commensurate with experience Benefits package Opportunity to play a key leadership role in a growing organization Collaborative, entrepreneurial work environment Professional growth and long-term career development opportunities Clear communicator who can partner effectively with non-finance teams #J-18808-Ljbffr
