Job Description

Overview Our growing client is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to lead the finance team at a growing accounting practice. The Corporate Controller is responsible for overseeing the preparation of the company''''s financial statements and managing accounting processes including month-end, quarterly reporting, accounts payable/receivable, account reconciliations, coordination of audits, and internal controls. Additionally, the Controller will be involved in the budgeting, forecasting, and planning process. The Controller will report directly to the CFO and will be expected to provide leadership to the rest of the accounting group. Responsibilities Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances. Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements as per ASPE/IFRS. Manage the month-end close process including overseeing reconciliations, journal entries and reporting. Oversee the company payroll including payroll processing, pay withholding taxes and maintain employee records. Coordinate the preparation of internal management and regulatory reporting. Research technical accounting issues for compliance. Ensure accuracy of financial transactions and financial reporting. Manage and comply with local, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Assist with the preparation of tax credits documentation and filings. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Additional duties as required. Skills and experiences 5+ years of accounting and finance experience Proven leadership and team management experience Advanced degree in Accounting or Business CPA or equivalent preferred Thorough knowledge of ASPE and/or IFRS Highly proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Excel using pivot tables and v-lookups Experience using ERP software QuickBooks Experience using reporting software Hyperion Personal attributes Team player with a positive can-do attitude Ability to work autonomously with little direction Ability to upward manage hiring manager overseeing delivery Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills Pay and benefits Base pay range: $110,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr Additional compensation types: Annual Bonus Why Imagine?
