Youth Program Leader Wage: $20.00 per hourHours: Part-Time (030 hrs/week)Location: Nanaimo & Parksville, BC Benefits: Up to 50% Reduction on Childcare Fees Paid Certificate Renewal Paid Training and Professional Development Opportunities About us! The Youth Program Leader plans and leads activities for youth ages 1118, creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment. As a front-line worker, youll build positive relationships with youth, families, and the community. This role requires a Class 5 license and availability in Parksville as needed. Key Responsibilities Plan, lead, and evaluate fun, safe, and age-appropriate activities aligned with Club policies, mission, and vision Foster positive and healthy relationships among youth participants Address youth issues, incidents, or crises, providing support and reporting to the Youth Programs Manager or relevant agencies as needed Ensure safe use and maintenance of program equipment and facilities, including van/bus inspections for participant transport Maintain accurate program records (attendance, activity logs, statistics) Support volunteers and practicum students assisting with program delivery Participate in program evaluation, goal setting, and training opportunities Administer first aid according to Club policies Assist with special events, promotions, or other duties as required Qualifications Preference given to candidates with courses, diploma, or degree in Recreation Management, Child & Youth Care, or Education Valid Class 5 Drivers License required; Class 4 considered an asset Valid Community Care First Aid (or equivalent) Minimum 1 year of experience working with youth; experience with youth with special needs or behavioural challenges is an asset Note: For programming needs, male candidates are preferred for this role.
