Website: https://birdseyelabs.ai Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Software Architect to make intuitive highlevel decisions for various software development initiatives. Successful candidates will design, oversee, and project manage both internal and external facing software development initiatives. Architect will ensure that all projects are interlinked and aligned with the companys big picture and create architectural approaches for software design and implementation to guide the development team. A great software architect has a strong development and management background and excellent software integration experience. They are experienced in designing and possess the ability to develop a unified vision for software characteristics and functions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Collaborate with other architects and engineering teams to design and evolve Javabased services and applications Contribute to the development and refinement of our serviceoriented architecture, ensuring consistency and alignment with longterm goals Apply and advocate for sound software design principles, including modularity, reusability, and maintainability Design systems for scalability, high availability, and fault tolerance to meet growing platform demands Participate in architecture reviews, design sessions, and code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to best practices Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams Work with crossfunctional teams to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance across the platform Requirements 7+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong focus on Java and backend development Experience working in or with serviceoriented architectures (SOA, microservices) Solid understanding of software design principles (e.g., SOLID, DRY, KISS) Experience building and maintaining distributed systems and APIs Proven ability to design systems for scale and high availability Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams MSc/MA in computer science, engineering, or relevant field This role will require the candidate to complete background checks (includes but not limited to: references, educational verification, criminal check, credit check - where applicable).
