Business Intelligence Analyst - GOAPRDJP000007037000 - 113 STEdmontonRemote (Must be in Canada)Contract 6 monthsProvides hands-on business intelligence support on the strategic data initiatives that are being undertaken as part of the Data Strategy. A critical responsibility is to translate data into actionable business insights that support strategic decisions by creating dashboards, reports and business KPIs. Services and project deliverables should evolve as the work progresses, in response to emerging user and business needs, as well as design and technical opportunities. Works with Manager Analytics Capability Centre to:Deliver business intelligence capabilities to support internal and external client needsDevelop data products based on various data setsAnalyze data and prepare resultsGather and document client requirementsDesign and develop data productsCapture business and technical metadata for data productsPerform data analysis, data quality audits/reviews, statistical analysis and data miningDevelop and share data models and productsDevelop baseline and ongoing outcomes, key results, metrics, and other indicators.Apply skills to provide insights, support decision-making and facilitate strategic business planningIntegrate both quantitative and qualitative data to create business insightsDesign and create dashboards and custom reporting with various data sources and inputsEscalate issues and risks, as appropriateWork within a multi-vendor/staff environmentMust-Haves:Direct hands-on experience translating business requirements into analytical solutions and communicating findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver end to end BI solutions -5 yearsDirect hands-on experience designing, developing, and optimizing advanced Power BI solutions that transform regulated and complex datasets into actionable insights for policy, operations and executive reporting -5 yearsDirect hands-on experience with a comprehensive set of visualization techniques and features that demonstrate both technical depth and storytelling skill using Power Bi -5 yearsExperience developing complex measures, calculated columns, advanced time intelligence using DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) in Power BI - 5 yearsDirect hands-on experience in analyzing large complex datasets to perform trend analysis, predictive analytics, and forecasting using Power BI and Azure analytics tools - 5 yearsExperience in presenting and storytelling to effectively communicate data-driven insights to executives and business users within a government organization - 5 yearsExperience understanding and developing requirements for analytical projects -5 yearsEducation - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field of study equivalencies will be consideredNice-to-Have's:Direct experience building data products in the Government of Alberta cloud environment - 2 yearsExperience combining raw data from a variety of data sources within and across domains -5 yearsExperience dealing with clients and explaining complex data principles in a thoughtful manner -5 yearsDirect hands-on experience in SQL for data transformations, querying, and analytical processing in large scale environments -3 yearsExperience preparing visualizations, dashboards, and analytical models -5 yearsExperience working with large government datasets -3 years #J-18808-Ljbffr
