GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITYReporting to the Network Team Lead, a Network Specialist is responsible for the implementation, day-to-day operation, and support of PRIMECorps network infrastructure. The incumbent ensures reliable, secure, and efficient network operations to support mission-critical applications. The role is hands-on, involving the installation, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of both on-premise and cloud network elements. The Network Specialist collaborates closely with Infrastructure, Security, and Service teams to meet operational objectives and uphold network service levels.An ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of routing and switching, firewall management, security protocols, cloud network technologies and experience working in a NetOps environment.NATURE AND SCOPEConfigures, implements, and maintains enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN environmentsMonitors, troubleshoots, and optimizes network security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access control policiesParticipates in the deployment and administration of cloud and hybrid network infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)Responds to and resolves Tier 2/3 network incidents, escalating to the Team Lead as needed for complex issuesMonitors network performance, capacity, and security posture, proactively identifying areas for improvementExecutes network maintenance activities, including software upgrades, patch management, and infrastructure refreshesMaintains network diagrams and documentationCommunicate with internal stakeholders and external vendorsPerforms other related work, as required and assigned by the Network Team LeadEDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCEDiploma or degree in Computer Science Technology or a related discipline (or an equivalent combination of training and experience)5 or more years of experience in enterprise network operations and supportIndustry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or PCNSA, or equivalent are highly desirableITIL Foundation v3 or later accreditation is preferredExperience working with network automation, scripting, and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Ansible, Python, Terraform)Experience in deploying and managing cloud networking services in AWS, Azure, or GCP is desirableHands-on experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Splunk, PRTG, Wireshark)Experience operating a multi-tenant, highly segmented data center network is desirableKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESDeep knowledge of routing and switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, VLANs, VXLAN)Expertise in firewall management, including rule optimization, logging, and incident responseProficiency in network automation and scripting to streamline operations and reduce manual configurationsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issuesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to collaborate with a cross-functional technical teamWORKING ENVIRONMENTMust obtain and maintain a RCMP Secret Level security clearanceOccasional availability to work outside of regular working hoursMust reside in the Lower MainlandAfter hours on-call support required on a rotational basisHybrid work environment remote and in-officeOccasional travel may be requiredMonday to Friday 40 paid hours per weekThis position will close on Oct 26, 2025. #J-18808-Ljbffr
