Executive Pastry Chef Lusa Bakery Kanata, ON $25$35 per hour (based on experience) Full-Time | Permanent Lusa Bakery is seeking an experienced, disciplined, and creative Executive Pastry Chef to lead our pastry department. We are a European-style bakery committed to daily fresh production, quality craftsmanship, and operational excellence. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing a focused pastry team while maintaining high standards in execution, consistency, and innovation. We are looking for a chef who values structure, efficiency, and pride in their work and who brings a creative mindset to help expand and elevate our pastry offerings. Role Overview The Executive Pastry Chef will: Lead and supervise a team of 2 pastry staff Oversee daily production of European-style pastries and desserts Maintain strict quality control and consistency Manage prep schedules and production workflow Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are upheld Develop and introduce new, creative, and innovative pastry items Expand and refine our pastry selection while respecting European traditions Control waste and maintain cost awareness This is a working leadership position not an office role. Qualifications Minimum 57 years professional pastry experience Strong background in European pastry techniques Experience with laminated doughs, custards, creams, and specialty desserts Demonstrated creativity and ability to develop new products Prior leadership experience preferred Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work early mornings or overnight shifts Must be legally eligible to work in Canada (No LMIA sponsorship available) Compensation & Schedule $25$35 per hour (based on experience and leadership ability) Full-time position Early morning / overnight shifts required Weekend availability If you are passionate about craftsmanship and excited to help grow and innovate a pastry program, we would like to hear from you.
