The Role Reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain and Logistics, the Senior Manager, Production will ensure health and safety, team development, and safe and efficient operations for our new production facilities and equipment. This position oversees the launch, operation, and scalingup of an inhouse vegetable processing facility, optimizes distribution to ensure processed vegetables are efficiently delivered to our network of community partners, and leads by example to foster a positive and collaborative team environment. The role works collaboratively and crossfunctionally across the organization. Responsibilities Demonstrate expertise in managing perishable products, including QA, proper handling, storage, and the use of specialized equipment such as coolers, freezers, and staging areas to ensure quality and compliance with safety standards. Contribute to inventory control documentation through daily updates of skid counts per zone and per category, feeding critical data into a planning dashboard. Assist in commissioning and launching the inhouse vegetable processing facility; once operational, manage inputs, production, outputs, storage, and distribution of processed vegetables for snack programs, and plan and execute scalingup/expansions. Hire, onboard, train, and mentor all production staff. Ensure production equipment is sanitary, compliant with its preventive maintenance schedule, and always in excellent working order. Maintain, motivate, and lead staff in the food production facility, ensuring a positive team dynamic, monitoring performance, setting development goals, mentoring success, establishing priorities, and evaluating results. Secure contingency/redundancy agreements to ensure uninterrupted supply in the event of equipment downtime. Provide support for group food sorts and other initiatives. Perform related duties as required or assigned to support the organizations overall goals. Who You Are SafetyFocused: Prioritize health and safety in all operations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and maintaining a secure environment for all. Strong knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety, Building/Fire/Safety/Environmental Codes and Regulations, and Ministry of Transportation requirements. SelfStarter: Initiative and drive to complete tasks, prioritizing work to meet timelines. Technically proficient: Comfortable using MS Office and Teams. Valid forklift certification and experience operating warehouse equipment. Ability to periodically lift, push, pull 50+ pounds, stand, walk, kneel, bend, and reach. Valid Class G drivers license and reliable vehicle for work travel (mileage compensated). Experience with facilities management considered an asset.
