Job Summary La Spesa Food Market is seeking a friendly and motivated Sales Associate to join our weekend team (you must be available to work all Saturdays & Sundays). We are looking for an all in one team player who will keep our gourmet deli, coffee bar, sandwiches and pantry stocked and buzzing with friendly vibes. In this role, you will greet shoppers, help pick the perfect items and keep everything running smooth in our fast paced setup. The ideal candidate is organized, communicative, and passionate about delivering a positive shopping experience, while also being able to food prep, slice deli and make coffees. Bilingual and multilingual skills specifically Italian & Spanish. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly guide their selections Slice Deli meats & cheese Make coffee with espresso machine Prepare sandwiches on the spot Engage in upselling to maximize sales opportunities Operate POS system including cash handling and processing payments Provide accurate information about products, promotions, and store policies Manage time effectively to ensure all customer inquiries are addressed promptly Handle phone inquiries professionally using proper phone etiquette Assist with inventory management and stock replenishment and keep shelves stocked Maintaining a clean, organized store environment following established cleaning protocols Be attentive to what is happening in the store Skills Excellent communication skills in English Quick thinker in fast paced environment - speed and multitasking are key Strong customer service orientation with a friendly demeanor Basic math skills for cash handling and POS transactions Experience with sales and food handling Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently Time management skills to prioritize daily responsibilities Ability to upsell products tactfully to enhance customer satisfaction and sales performance True team player who is proactive and always tuned in Knowledge of phone etiquette for professional customer interactions Smart Serve Certification Food Handlers Certification This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced retail settings and enjoy engaging with customers while showcasing their sales talents.
