Board Directors at BFM Foundation Canada BFM Foundation Canada is a national organization with over 50+ thrift stores across Canada. The proceeds from all Mission Thrift Stores are devoted to the Joint Ministry of BFM Foundation Canada and Bible League Canada. These funds are used by Bible League Canada to support Christian organizations that establish adult literacy programs, church planter training, childrens ministry initiatives, and the distribution of Bibles in 50+ countries worldwide. Join Our Board Make a Lasting Impact! Are you looking for a meaningful volunteer leadership opportunity? BFM Foundation Canada is currently seeking Board Directors who understand and support the vision and purpose of our organization. As a Board Director you will play a key role by: Providing governance and oversight to ensure organizational accountability and compliance with applicable laws and bylaws. Supporting the organizations strategic direction by upholding its vision, mission, and long-term goals. Representing stakeholder interests through informed decision-making and policy development. Contributing your expertise in governance, financial stewardship, and risk management. This is a Policy Governance Board, meaning directors focus on governance, oversight, and high-level decision-making, rather than operational matters. This is a volunteer position. Required Commitment: Follower of Jesus Christ who wholeheartedly subscribes to the BFM Foundation Canada Statement of Faith and Board Code of Ethical Conduct. A love for Bible-based ministry in Canada and around the world. Cultural, economic, and environmental awareness. Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Visionary, strategic thinking Well-versed in policy governance Ability to understand financials Critical and logical thinking Understanding of risk management High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability Must be a Canadian Citizen and Canadian Resident Board Directors will be expected to attend three in-person meetings per year and the Annual General Meeting (held in June), as well as committee meetings as assigned.
