Responsibilities include developing and implementing health and safety policies, conducting workplace hazard assessments, investigating workplace accidents, and creating and delivering engaging safety training programs for employees. The advisor will also ensure compliance with all Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations and participate in continuous improvement efforts related to occupational health and safety systems.Key ResponsibilitiesCompliance & Documentation Develop and review health & safety policies, programs, and proceduresSupport JHSC programs, training documentation, and safe work proceduresAssist clients during Ministry of Labour inspections and regulatory inquiriesTranslate legislation into practical, actionable business guidanceMaintain expert-level knowledge of Ontario and Canadian OHS legislationTraining & Program SupportCoordinate and/or deliver safety training programsSupport implementation of:Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)Risk AssessmentsWSIB Health & Safety Excellence ProgramWorking at HeightsTransportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)Confined SpacesTrenching, Sloping & ShoringStandard First Aid/CPR/AEDInternal CollaborationWork closely with HR Advisors, Legal, and Operations teamsContribute to improving tools, templates, and internal processesMaintain accurate client documentation and case notesQualificationsTo be considered, candidates must meet ALL of the following:57+ years of Occupational Health & Safety experience in Manufacturing OR ConstructionMust reside in OntarioStrong, working knowledge of Ontario OHS legislation (multi-province experience an asset)Proven experience conducting on-site workplace inspections and safety auditsProven experience supporting on-site incident investigations and corrective actionsComfortable advising business owners and senior leadership teamsCRSP, CHSC, or equivalent professional designationDiploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent combination of education and experience)Highly self-directed and able to work independently in a remote environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWhat Makes You Exceptional Experience in a consulting or advisory environmentExperience supporting Ministry of Labour inspectionsExperience with WSIB/WCB claims managementExperience in unionized environments (strongly preferred)Familiarity with HR compliance and employment standardsThis is not a purely administrative or paper compliance role.
