Optix is looking for a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to design, build, and own a modern, automated QA practice as we evolve from a rulesbased automation platform into a leading conversational, agentic workspace management system. Youll establish the processes, tooling, and automation frameworks that ensure our platform remains stable, scalable, and reliable, especially as AIpowered features become core to our product. Working closely with our product team, you will develop automated testing systems, build AIassisted QA workflows, and directly contribute to issue resolution when bugs arise. This is a rare opportunity to create a QA discipline from the ground up inside a profitable, proven SaaS company. You will shape how we test and validate software, particularly AI features, while collaborating with experienced AI leaders who will help you sharpen your testing, automation, and AI evaluation capabilities. If you have 5+ years of experience in software Quality Assurance, and youre excited by the opportunity to build a QA function from the ground up inside a fastgrowing, productdriven company, wed love to meet you. Must Haves 5+ years of experience in software QA, with a strong focus on test automation Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining automated test suites (unit, API, integration, and E2E) Experience with PHP/Laravel is required Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks like Vue, React and Angular Solid understanding of REST/GraphQL API testing and integration patterns Experience working with CI/CD systems and incorporating automated testing into deployment pipelines Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adopt modern testing approaches Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a systemsthinking mindset Able to work independently and collaboratively in a crossfunctional team environment Strong communication skills with the ability to explain test strategies and results clearly to both technical and nontechnical team members Must Haves Experience with automation frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, PHPUnit, Pest, or similar Comfort working with Git, Linux command line tools, and continuous integration systems Experience designing maintainable, testable frameworks in complex systems Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman, k6, or custom frameworks Willingness to learn AIspecific testing patterns, including prompt engineering, context evaluation, and LLM behavior monitoring Ability to diagnose, reproduce, and resolve issues, contributing code fixes when appropriate NiceToHaves Have used test platforms that incorporate AI for increased productivity Experience with AI/ML testing frameworks or AI tooling (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Pydantic, OpenAI evals, etc.) Deployment expertise: containerization, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), production monitoring Prior QA experience in a B2B SaaS environment Experience building a QA practice from scratch or acting as a QA lead What youll do Create and own Optixs QA strategy, including processes, frameworks, and quality standards Build automated test suites (unit, integration, API, endtoend) that scale with a fastmoving product Introduce AIassisted QA processes such as AIgenerated test cases, regression detection, and output evaluation Collaborate closely with Engineering and Product to integrate QA early in the development cycle Identify opportunities to improve user experience, product reliability, and development velocity Troubleshoot, reproduce, and validate bugs, contributing fixes when appropriate We take care of our teammates This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing technology startup.
