Senior Budget & Financial Analyst Location: Burnaby, B.C Job ID: 6727 Regular/Full-Time Salary: $86,007.24 $97,679.59 Annually BC Housing is a provincial Crown Corporation that develops, manages, and administers a wide range of subsidized housing options across British Columbia. Position Summary Reporting to the assigned manager, the Senior Budget & Financial Analyst compiles and presents complex financial analyses, reports, and business cases for capital project submissions and participates in the annual budget process. The analyst reviews and evaluates financial data and reports to ensure accuracy and completeness, presenting findings for managerial review. Candidate Profile Education & Experience: Bachelors degree in business, economics, accounting, finance, or a related field. Extensive work experience in a high-volume computerized financial accounting environment, carrying out complex financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting functions. Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable to the employer. Budgeting and Forecasting Qualifications: Member in good standing of the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) association. Capital Project Qualifications: Extensive experience preparing and editing business cases, reports, proposals, and other formal written submissions. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Extensive knowledge of government decision-making and policy development processes. Ability to learn and understand missioncritical corporate enterprise applications and IT systems (e.g., JDE1, WebFOCUS, SQL Server Analysis Services). Attention to detail and high accuracy when working with numbers and dollars. Initiative, independence, and the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines. Leadership, coaching, and motivational skills in a team setting. Strong research, analytical, problemsolving, and conceptual thinking skills. Strong organizational and timemanagement skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Budgeting and Forecasting and Financial Reporting & Analysis Team Skills: Extensive knowledge of budgeting and financial reporting functions within the public sector. Extensive knowledge of financial, accounting, and reporting systems, processes, and controls. Extensive knowledge of accounting concepts and processes. Capital Project Team Skills: Ability to summarize qualitative data into concise formats for internal and external stakeholders.
