To learn more about our organization and the communities we serve, we invite you to visit our websites: www.mybetterliving.ca www.mealsonwheelsandmore.ca www.myhospice.ca www.doanehospice.org www.mypalcare.org The Board Member Role: As a Director, you will contribute to the governance and strategic stewardship of the organization by: Providing oversight of organizational performance, quality, and compliance Contributing to strategic planning and long-term sustainability Ensuring accountability to Residents, Clients, Families and the broader community Supporting strong leadership, ethical decision-making, and risk management Upholding fiduciary and legal responsibilities as a Board Director. Skills and Experience Were Seeking: Previous Board experience is an asset but is not required. Orientation and ongoing education are provided. We are particularly interested in individuals with experience or expertise in one or more of the following areas: Human Resources and Labour Relations Financial management or accounting Legal expertise (Health, Employment, Corporate, or Governance) Long-Term Care Redevelopment/Construction Project Management Public Affairs and Marketing Equally important is sound judgement, collaborative leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are actively seeking individuals who live and/or work in North York and York Region. Commitments: Board participation is a volunteer role. Directors are elected to a one-year term, with the opportunity for re-election. In-person meetings approximately every two months Occasional committee meetings Additional time for task related actionable items (generally no more than 3 hours per month) Support the organizations fundraising initiatives.
