This is an excellent opportunity for a newly designated CPA (or recent graduate) who is ready to step into a broad, handson Controller role and gain meaningful exposure to both the operational and strategic sides of the business. As a member of the senior leadership team , you will work closely with ownership and management to support financial planning, forecasting, and decisionmaking, while also owning the core daytoday accounting operations. This role offers strong visibility, mentorship, and the chance to truly understand how a growing import and distribution business runs endtoend. Location: 100% InOffice Company Size: What Youll Be Doing Participate as a trusted member of the senior leadership team Support management with financial forecasting, budgeting, and rolling projections Prepare variance analysis and explain results in clear, practical terms Help translate financial data into insights that support better business decisions HandsOn Accounting & Cash Management Manage daily cash flow, bank activity, and reconciliations Assist with foreign exchange tracking and reporting Maintain and update cash flow forecasts using Syspro Oversee AR invoicing, collections, refunds, and specialty billing Review invoices and support payment processing (EFT, wire, VISA, OFX) Prepare AR and AP aging reports Accounting & MonthEnd Support Maintain general ledger accuracy and coding Review GRN reports and ensure AP is completed on schedule Support monthend close and internal reporting Assist with landed cost tracking and inventoryrelated accounting Payroll, Tax & Compliance Process biweekly payroll and related reporting Prepare GST/HST, PST, WCB, EHT, and other statutory filings Ensure compliance deadlines are met accurately and on time People & Office Support Supervise and support one accounting clerk (APfocused, developing AR skills) Lead weekly AR checkins and shortterm cash discussions Assist with light office management tasks (supplies, coffee, office events) What Were Looking For CPA designation (newly designated or recent graduate encouraged to apply) At least 2 years of handson leadership or supervisory experience Experience in a smaller, entrepreneurial company environment ( Interest or experience in import/export and distribution Exposure to landed costs and foreign exchange is a strong asset Syspro ERP experience highly preferred Strong Excel skills required; Power Query and database knowledge an asset Analytical mindset with the ability to explain what the numbers mean Clear communicator who is comfortable working with nonfinancial stakeholders Willingness to roll up sleeves and learn in a fully inoffice environment Why This Role Is a Great Next Step Broad Controller exposure early in your career Direct access to senior leadership and real decisionmaking Opportunity to build confidence across operations, forecasting, and leadership Ideal for someone ready to grow beyond a narrow or siloed accounting role #J-18808-Ljbffr
