The description below outlines the roles responsibilities, supervisory scope, and requirements as they relate to maintaining and supporting automated storage and retrieval systems at customer sites. Responsibilities Be the customer-facing voice for Knapp Inc. Communicate between the customer, the on-site team, and the Resident Business Manager. Attend daily production meetings and manage communications to ensure customers feel engaged and understand the value provided by the site team. Develop and manage a budget with the Resident Business Manager and oversee budget adherence with the customer as needed. Lead the on-site maintenance programs, processes, people, and documentation for efficient and high-performing automated storage and retrieval systems and storage and picking systems at customer locations. Build and maintain customer relationships at the customer site(s), leading preventive and predictive maintenance programs and following all SOPs and safety policies. Escalate issues in compliance with agreed-upon escalation procedures. Supervisory Overview Provide leadership and guidance to the Resident Site Carry out supervisory responsibilities per organizational policies and applicable laws Perform ultimate site supervision and leadership Oversee interview, hiring, and training of potential site team members Plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees as a leadership team Address complaints and assist in providing resolutions as needed Essential Functions and Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service to strengthen Knapps reputation Provide visible value to the customer Deliver rapid and effective support Manage site budgets and related commercial activities Oversee tasks by developing team skillsets to meet Service Level Agreements (SLA) Oversee on-site system improvements and installations Oversee all training requirements, both technical and regulatory Mentor, coach, teach and develop on-site staff Increase the scope and efficiency of Knapps support solutions Be an effective manager focused on team development Guide the team to complete reactive repairs within timeframes Engage with on-site and off-site management to communicate local issues and successes Provide accountability for Health & Safety considerations and carry out risk assessments Provide monthly summaries and detailed reports covering commercial and technical activities Improve service level and optimize resource utilization through industry best practices Manage through direct reports the provision of maintenance services for live information systems Plan and implement system security policy Manage daily activities of all personnel Value cultural diversity and promote alignment of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) maintenance objectives Resolve resourcing issues beyond the Resident Site Managers control Champion internal Maintenance Team review meetings Manage process improvements to increase customer satisfaction Maintain high customer satisfaction while achieving reasonable commercial return Develop and manage maintenance budgets and cost projections Provide management of the supply chain and ensure cultural alignment of sub-suppliers Lead maintenance interfacing with Knapps nominated suppliers and sub-suppliers Ensure every team member understands the commercial implications of decisions Maintain accountability for Quality, Health, and Safety within maintenance scope Monitor and update the MHE risk register Continuously assess and fulfill supplier resource requirements Responsible for producing and maintaining MHE Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules Assist with identification and monitoring of MHE Maintenance Team interfaces Coordinate with Customer Operations Shift Managers and supplier First Line Managers for safe and efficient MHE management Assess and report MHE progress and attendance at meetings Assist with verifying adherence to standards and procedures with MHE QA and HSE advisors Approve revised MHE documents, drawings, and correspondence prior to issue Manage MHE and the Maintenance Cost Plan (MCP) Monitor progress of associated sub-suppliers Ensure timely supply of MHE maintenance hardware Assist with MHE QA and HSE within the MHE maintenance scope Maintain the MHE Health and Safety File Accountable for the correct allocation of all spares inventory Custodian of site escalation and grievance procedures related to MHE maintenance Participate in work-related performance training and improvement programs Perform other duties as required commensurate with the role Respond to and address emergency calls Qualifications Authorization to work in the U.S. Passport or ability to obtain passport Work on weekends and/or overtime as required Professional office etiquette is required at all times Occasional travel required Physical requirements may include: sitting, squatting, walking, reaching out to arms length, reaching overhead, lifting between 50-100 pounds What You Will Get Industry competitive compensation Great benefits with better than average employer contributions, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, Short & Long Term Disability and more 401k with a very generous employer match and no vesting Paid Vacation & Holidays Profit Sharing Paid Parental Leave Subsidized Daycare Tuition Reimbursement Pet Insurance KNAPP is an equal opportunity employer.
