Job Description

Overview The SSI Digital Shipbuilding Platform is an integrated CAD/PLM enterprise system, developed exclusively for shipbuilding and fleet sustainment. The key SSI Platform software applications are ShipConstructor (3D CAD/CAM) and ShipbuildingPLM. SSI shipbuilding technology is a market leader in North America, with a strong European and Oceania client base. The SSI PLM Configuration and Architecture Specialist plays a key role as a member of the Enterprise Solutions team with a strong emphasis on the development, custom configuration, and deployment of a ShipbuildingPLM client-specific solution that is tailored to support the wider solution architecture. The ability to also engage with clients to capture complex requirements and map end-to-end process definitions that can be translated into the development of a complete integrated SSI solution would be a distinct advantage. The position will require collaborating with a larger SSI Platform implementation and SME team, and includes engaging with clients through remote meetings with minimal travel. Flexibility in working hours will be required to accommodate client time zones. The chosen candidate must be located within North America, Australia, or Europe, and will have the flexibility to work fully remotely, or in a hybrid or in-office capacity at our SSI offices in Mobile, AL, USA, or Victoria, BC, Canada. Duties and Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement client-specific PLM solutions as part of an agile, cross-functional team, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and overall product architecture. Engage directly with customers to interpret complex requirements and translate them into scalable and maintainable software solutions within the PLM platform. Participate in code reviews, quality assurance (QA), and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet performance and functional requirements, and to support the delivery of high-quality solutions. Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including development specifications, release notes, user guides, and test plans. Work directly with customers to support solution deployment, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical guidance and training. Collaborate with stakeholders to plan, design, and develop new PLM features, customizations, and enhancements in response to customer and business requirements. What We Look For At least four years of professional development experience working on PLM projects in medium to large manufacturing industries, ideally with some exposure to shipbuilding/offshore or Engineer-To-Order industry experience. Proficiency in JavaScript and C# required. Exposure to CAD and Design Review applications is desired. Ability to travel for client engagement meetings/workshops. Experience in PLM integration with enterprise systems such as ERP/MES is a distinct advantage. Experience with the Aras Innovator PLM platform is required.
