What Youll Do Define and execute engineering strategy: Align technical direction with business goals, balancing velocity with quality and scalability. Build and scale the team: Recruit, retain, and mentor worldclass engineers and managers, while fostering career growth and leadership development. Drive execution at scale: Ensure timely delivery of complex, highimpact projects across the stack, with a focus on backend systems and infrastructure. Partner crossfunctionally: Work closely with product, design, and business stakeholders to shape the roadmap and deliver on company priorities. Champion engineering excellence: Establish standards for architecture, observability, performance, and operational excellence. What Makes You a Great Fit 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with 5+ years leading teams (people management and technical leadership). Experience scaling engineering organizations at a fastgrowing startup or tech company. Strong judgment on tradeoffs, architecture, and tooling; favoring supported, stable technologies over trends for their own sake. Proven ability to deliver large, complex projects while keeping teams unblocked and motivated. Deep familiarity with backend systems, distributed architecture, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Postgres; Node.js/TypeScript experience a plus). A track record of building diverse, highperforming teams and fostering an inclusive, feedbackrich culture. Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels; comfortable jumping into code reviews one moment and boardlevel discussions the next. Our current tech stack We choose tools that help solve the problem at hand efficiently. For our current set of problems, we prefer to primarily use TypeScript with Node.js . We use TypeGraphQL for our API endpoints, Apollo/Express as our web server, and Postgres (hosted on RDS) + ClickHouse as our database. We use React for frontend, and AWS for our infrastructure needs.
