We are bridging two worlds, moving towards more sustainable energy sources while providing the energy, chemicals and resources needed now. Purpose We are recruiting a Lead Electrical Engineer. This is a fulltime position based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The candidate will lead small, medium and large projects for the Electrical discipline and interface well with the customer and coordinate with the rest of the project team. Responsibilities Lead a discipline project team of Designers/Engineers at home office and other supporting offices around the globe. Serve as project lead and supervise the work of other engineers, designers or drafters. Perform designing/engineering work and deliverables as part of the Electrical team. Interpret client specifications. Coordinate and communicate with other disciplines and the client. Support scope definition, estimation, and progress control of Electrical engineering activities. Support resource allocation based on project schedule requirements. Lead RFP, estimations, detailed engineering, and field support project activities. Familiarity with applicable codes and mining standards to support engineering deliverables. Support quality assurance and verification role on engineering deliverables. Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions. Assist and support junior, intermediate and senior personnel within the Electrical engineering team. Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in Electrical engineering. Resolve discrepancies between Worley and its Customers requirements. Act as the Electrical engineering Lead on specific projects as required. Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes. Participate in meetings, prepare progress reports, and follow required checking procedures. Provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities. Provide construction management support for clients as required. Liaise with clients, vendors, engineers and other disciplines. Participate in the professional development of less experienced members of the department/team. Qualifications Leadership experience in Electrical design and engineering. Seniorlevel electrical engineering professional with a history of leading highimpact projects. Leadership role supporting multiple small, midsized and large projects. Knowledge of instrumentation is an asset. Previous site experience is an asset. Experience in the minerals and metals industry is necessary. Surface and U/G mining experience including shaft sinking, subsurface utilities. Familiar with digital tools, digitization and data acquisition experience are an asset. Strong knowledge of the following deliverables: MV and LV systems. HV knowledge is an asset. Single line diagrams, schematics, interconnection and wiring diagrams. Layout lighting and grounding, cable routing design. Substation and MCC design. Area classification per code requirements. Electrical calculations. HVAC, ventilation, and fire alarm/control system experience. Teleprotection/communication/SCADA. Revamp and grassroots project experience. Preparation of specifications and contract documentation. Prepare electrical design and calculations in accordance with relevant Canadian Codes / Standards and client preferences. Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, regulations and practices. Team player, excellent organizational, communication, time management and problemsolving skills. Knowledge of power system design/studies and ETAP. Basic knowledge of computer aided design software. Basic knowledge of Smart Plant Electrical software. Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite. Experience in the Worley Improvement business is an asset. Education Qualifications, Accreditation, Training University graduate in Electrical Engineering or Applied Science. Compensation For applicants based in the province of British Columbia, the salary range is $108,349 to $161,479 CAD. Variation in salary is determined by factors such as the candidates qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
