As an Intermediate Mine Waste Engineer, you would contribute to the planning, design, and stewardship of mine waste facilitiesfrom tailings and waste rock to water systems and landform design. You would work alongside experienced professionals from across disciplines to tackle pressing geotechnical and environmental challenges with confidence, precision, and care. What you can expect to do here: Designing and overseeing construction of waste storage and containment systems Leading geotechnical investigations and stability analyses Developing long-term waste and water management strategies Preparing clear technical documentation and performance reviews Ensuring regulatory alignment with environmental and safety standards Collaborating with teams in geology, water resources, and project delivery What youll bring to WSP: Bachelors degree in Geotechnical, Civil, or Geological Engineering 57 years of experience in mine waste or geotechnical environments P. Eng. designation or eligibility for licensure A willingness to travel for business purposes including potential need for extending time on sites in Canada and overseas Experience with tailings dam design concepts, best practice and guidelines Clear, informed technical communication skills Adaptability, curiosity, and a commitment to collaborative delivery Preferred attributes include: A Masters degree in a related field Familiarity with permitting and environmental regulations Experience in project execution and leadership WSP is committed to the principles of employment equity.
