Your Role Under the general direction of the Director, Finance and Accounting, the Project Professional Accountant is responsible for a variety of complex accounting and financial functions related to generosityarthinternational consulting operations. Specific responsibilities include: Provide professional advice on finance and accounting matters for subsidiary management through financial analysis, interpretation of results, recommendation for changes and improvements involving use and control of local financial resources. Responsible for complex financial contract administration (billing, accounts payable, balance sheet accounts and management reports) of multi-year management contracts requiring sophisticated financial knowledge. Analyze and present monthly management reports to Project Managers and at a Divisional level, and provide financial advice on the status of the project to ensure they meet financial targets. Provide professional advice on financial assessment of business opportunities. Develop and maintain accounting systems and ensure adequate financial controls are in place and working. Prepare management and financial reports, for both line management and project management, specific for each project. Management of the international banking process including maintaining good working relationships with foreign banking institutions. Establish, maintain and oversee payroll system and compliance with applicable tax laws. Responsible for preparing cost estimates for moderately complex project proposals. Responsible for month and year end accounting processes of assigned business units/projects. Regularly initiates and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders, addressing routine and nonroutine issues. Perform backup relief for all other accounting functions. Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements. Develop and monitor budgets for assigned business units/projects to support organizational goals. Responsible for preparing audit documentation for external audits to ensure compliance and coordinate with the auditors. About You Completion of the Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) program and a minimum of two years related financial or accounting experience as a professional accountant combined with progressively responsible work experience and demonstrated skills and abilities for the position. Thorough understanding of relevant accounting principles, practices and procedures. Proficiency in working with financial and monthly accounting systems. Demonstrated ability with personal computers and aptitude in the use and development of application software programs. (i.e., Sage 300, SAP, Microsoft Product Suite, etc.) Demonstrated team player exhibiting a high degree of integrity, creativity and good judgement in dealing with accounting and human resource matters, including confidential information. Possess a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with various levels of management and external customers as required. Demonstrated ability to review, analyze and devise operative solutions for business situations. Understanding challenges of growing a small business with knowledge of international business practices. Demonstrated ability to work in a fastpaced, challenging environment with effective use of time management skills. Demonstrated ability to review, analyze and operative solutions for complex business situations.
