Job Details Position Title: Strategic Sourcing Specialist Faculty/Department: Financial Services / Purchasing Services Campus: North Campus Responsibilities The Strategic Sourcing Specialist manages end-to-end procurement and sourcing activities for Humber College. Reporting to the Associate Director, Purchasing, the role is responsible for leading complex RFx processes, negotiating and managing strategic contracts, and ensuring compliance with the Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive, trade agreements (CFTA, CETA), and College policies. The Specialist provides expert guidance to internal stakeholders on sourcing strategies, risk mitigation, and contract governance, including the development and monitoring of SLAs, KPIs, and vendor performance frameworks. Acting as a trusted advisor, the Specialist proactively builds supplier relationships, consolidates spend to leverage savings, and supports strategic planning and forecasting of procurement activities. The role requires strong analytical, negotiation, and project management skills to deliver transparent, fair, and value-driven outcomes that align with institutional priorities and uphold the highest standards of integrity and compliance. Qualifications About you: You are passionate about working in Ontarios largest polytechnic and thrive on improving productivity and quality that contribute to team success. Education: General university degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Public Administration. A professional procurement designation such as Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (CSCP), Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB), or Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) is strongly preferred. Experience/Skills: Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in public sector procurement, strategic sourcing, and contract management, with key qualifications including: Expert knowledge of procurement practices and compliance with BPS Procurement Directive and trade agreements. Proven ability to manage complex RFx processes (RFP, RFQ, RFI, RFSQ) and lead crossfunctional evaluation committees. Strong contract negotiation and vendor management skills, including development and monitoring of SLAs, KPIs, and governance frameworks. Advanced project management capabilities to lead strategic initiatives and manage multiple priorities under tight timelines. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build trust and collaborate effectively with senior leadership, unionised staff, and external partners. High level of analytical and problemsolving skills for market research, spend analysis, and risk mitigation. Proficiency in contract management systems and ERP purchasing modules (e.g., Banner), with the ability to train and support endusers. Strong Microsoft Office/Office 365 skills and ability to prepare professional documentation and reports.
