Overview Casual Security Guard at Hants Community Hospital, providing security and safety services. Position Details Position: Casual Security Guard Site: Hants Community Hospital Hours: 12hour shifts (Day and Night) Payrate: $20.50 per hour Key Responsibilities Patrol hospital grounds, parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits. Monitor surveillance systems and report incidents immediately. Control access points to ensure only authorized individuals enter restricted areas. Respond quickly to emergencies, including medical, fire, or security threats. Provide customer service to visitors, patients, and staff. Deescape tense situations and resolve conflicts calmly and professionally. Document daily activities and incidents in accurate reports. Collaborate with hospital staff and local law enforcement. Enforce hospital policies and address violations appropriately. Prerequisites and Requirements Ability to obtain a security license in Nova Scotia. Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C. Fluency in English (oral and written). Previous security, lawenforcement, or related experience preferred. Certificates in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB). Applicants lacking UOF/MOAB may opt into Paladins training program before onboarding. The training is not paid; Paladin covers all costs with a 6month commitment.
