Job Description: The Field Placement Officer reports to the Chair, Community Studies. In consultation with the Social Service Worker faculty, the incumbent assists in developing, promoting, coordinating, implementing and maintaining field placement sites and experiences. The incumbent supports the field instructors and the field placement supervisors for the Social Service Worker programs. Required Qualifications: Minimum two (2) year college diploma; diploma in Social Service Worker or related field an asset; Minimum of three (3) years related work in a variety of social service settings/agencies; Highly effective organizational skills with keen attention to detail; Demonstrated ability to develop positive working relationship/partnerships with internal and external clients; Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and resolve conflict; Ability to work independently and within a team; Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel and Outlook; Ability to use discretion, judgement and tact in handling sensitive or confidential information/situations; Knowledge of Student Information Systems (e.g., GeneSIS) an asset; Experience supervising students on field placements an asset.
