Job Description

About VoxCell VoxCell BioInnovation is redefining preclinical drug testing with high-resolution vascularized 3D human tissue models that replicate human biology. Our mission is to accelerate the development of safer and more effective therapeutics while reducing reliance on animal testing. We are a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers working at the intersection of tissue engineering, advanced bioprinting, and translational biology. VoxCell partners with leading biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and CRO organizations to generate human-relevant data that informs drug efficacy, safety, and clinical decision-making. Our culture is science-driven, collaborative, and execution focused. We value curiosity rigor and ownership, and we are building a team that wants to shape the future of preclinical drug development. About the Role We are seeking a Senior Scientist with a strong background in immunology to lead and expand VoxCells immune competent and immuno-oncology tissue platforms. This role will play a critical part in translating VoxCells vascularized tissue models into decision-critical tools for immuno-oncology, inflammation and immune-mediated toxicity programs. You will work closely with tissue engineers, computational scientists and commercial leadership to design, validate and deploy immune-relevant human tissue models for pharmaceutical and CRO partners. This is a hands-on scientific leadership role that sits at the interface of immunology, tissue engineering and translational drug development. Responsibilities Design, develop, and validate immune competent and immune-interactive 3D tissue models, including tumour-immune microenvironment and immune-mediated toxicity models. Lead experimental strategy for integrating primary human immune cells into vascularized human tissues, including T cells, macrophages, dendritic cells, and other relevant subsets. This includes extensive handson work with immune cell culture, activation workflows, cytokine readouts, and functional assays. Define and execute biologically meaningful immune-response readouts, such as immune activation, infiltration, cytokine signalling, cytotoxicity, and vascular-immune interactions. Translate customer questions into robust experimental designs, collaborating closely with commercial and scientific teams to define validation milestones and deliver actionable data. Support external collaborations with pharmaceutical, biotech, and CRO partners, including study design, data interpretation, and scientific communication. Contribute to validation pathways and decision gates that guide customers from pilot studies to recurring commercial programs. Mentor junior scientists and help foster a rigorous scientific culture emphasizing documentation, reproducibility, and highquality experimental execution. Stay current with advances in immunology, immuno-oncology, and new approach methodologies, and proactively integrate relevant innovations into VoxCells platform. Qualifications PhD in Immunology, Cell Biology, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field, with deep expertise in human immune cell biology. Experience in immunooncology is an asset. A masters degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience will also be considered. Extensive handson experience with primary human immune cells, including isolation, culture, activation, polarization, and maintenance of key immune subsets. Strong proficiency in immune functional assays, such as cytokine and chemokine profiling (multiplex, ELISA), flow cytometry, cytotoxicity assays, and immunecancer coculture systems Demonstrated ability to design, execute, and interpret complex biological experiments in humanrelevant 2D and 3D model systems. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex immunology concepts to multidisciplinary teams and external partners Comfort working in a fastpaced, highownership startup environment, with adaptability, initiative, and strong scientific rigour Commitment to creating an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative work environment Driven, adaptable, and motivated to contribute to a rapidly evolving platform at the intersection of immunology, tissue engineering, and advanced in vitro models. Compensation Base Salary: CAD $75,000$85,000 annually (depending on experience). Equity participation opportunity after one year of employment. Why Join VoxCell At VoxCell, you will help define how human immune biology is modelled and measured before clinical trials. Your work will directly influence how drug developers make go/no-go decisions and how immune therapies are evaluated, without relying on animal models. You will work closely with company leadership, scientific innovators, and global partners while helping shape a platform with the potential to become a standard in preclinical drug development. If you are excited by complex biology, real-world impact, and building something that does not yet exist, we would love to hear from you. How to Apply Please submit your CV & Cover letter to by Feb 28, 2026.
