Role Description This full-time, remote Occupational Health and Safety Advisor role is integral to fostering a safe and healthy working environment. Responsibilities include developing and implementing health and safety policies, conducting workplace hazard assessments, investigating workplace accidents, and creating and delivering engaging safety training programs for employees. The advisor will also ensure compliance with all Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations and participate in continuous improvement efforts related to occupational health and safety systems. Key Responsibilities Compliance & Documentation Develop and review health & safety policies, programs, and procedures Support JHSC programs, training documentation, and safe work procedures Assist clients during Ministry of Labour inspections and regulatory inquiries Translate legislation into practical, actionable business guidance Maintain expert-level knowledge of Ontario and Canadian OHS legislation Training & Program Support Coordinate and/or deliver safety training programs Support implementation of: Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) Risk Assessments WSIB Health & Safety Excellence Program Working at Heights Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Confined Spaces Trenching, Sloping & Shoring Standard First Aid/CPR/AED Internal Collaboration Work closely with HR Advisors, Legal, and Operations teams Contribute to improving tools, templates, and internal processes Maintain accurate client documentation and case notes Qualifications To be considered, candidates must meet ALL of the following: 57+ years of Occupational Health & Safety experience in Manufacturing OR Construction Must reside in Ontario Strong, working knowledge of Ontario OHS legislation (multi-province experience an asset) Proven experience conducting on-site workplace inspections and safety audits Proven experience supporting on-site incident investigations and corrective actions Comfortable advising business owners and senior leadership teams CRSP, CHSC, or equivalent professional designation Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Highly self-directed and able to work independently in a remote environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills What Makes You Exceptional Experience in a consulting or advisory environment Experience supporting Ministry of Labour inspections Experience with WSIB/WCB claims management Experience in unionized environments (strongly preferred) Familiarity with HR compliance and employment standards This is not a purely administrative or paper compliance role.
