Our client is seeking a hands-on, Engineering Lead to serve as the main point of contact for in house manufacturing operations. This individual will leverage deep experience with mechanical and electrical systems and guide engineering solutions from concept through assembly. As the business continues to scale rapidly, they need a leader who can manage engineering bottlenecks, work effectively with strong personalities, and remain committed to long-term career growth within a tight-knit, high-performance team. Responsibilities Review and design drawings, and component layouts with engineering teams Work hands-on with on-site assembly teams to ensure successful build-out of steering systems, applying practical marine engineering experience. Collaborate with and mentor a team of senior designers and engineers (approx. 8 total), offering leadership rooted in real-world shipboard management experience. Project management, proactively working with owners, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders, providing clear updates, technical explanations, and status reports. Support continuous improvement initiatives to remove engineering bottlenecks and help the business keep pace with increasing customer demand. Qualifications Engineering background ideal with strong understanding of manufacturing and production environments. Strong ability to read, interpret, and review engineering designs, schematics, diagrams, and system layouts in fast-paced environments, working with Solidworks/AutoCAD. Extensive experience working with Industrial Hydraulics systems. Hands-on mechanical aptitudeespecially experience with assembly, troubleshooting, and a genuine interest in how systems are built. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to keep pace with rapid conversations, manage strong personalities, and provide clear technical direction. Able to work on-site in North Vancouver (free parking provided).
