Job Title Restaurant Manager Company Gyubee Japanese Grill (Ottawa) Job Summary Gyubee Japanese Grill in Ottawa is hiring a full-time Restaurant Manager to lead daily operations and maintain a high standard of guest service, food quality, and workplace safety. You will manage staffing, scheduling, training, and performance, while supporting labour control, cash handling, and inventory organization. This role is best suited for an organized, hands-on leader who performs well in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Work Location On-site inOttawa, ON. Public transportation is available. Pay and Hours $36.00 per hour 3540 hours per week Full-time, shift-based schedule (day/evening/weekend as required) Vacation 2 weeks paid vacation Language Requirements English required Mandarin is an asset Key Responsibilities Oversee daily front-of-house and back-of-house operations to ensure smooth service Lead, coach, and supervise staff to maintain performance and teamwork Create staff schedules and adjust labour to match sales volume Monitor daily sales and labour costs and report operational issues when needed Recruit, onboard, and train new employees; support ongoing staff development Handle customer concerns professionally and resolve service issues promptly Ensure food quality, cleanliness, and compliance with health and safety standards Manage cash handling procedures, daily cash balancing, and related reports Organize inventory and support ordering and stock control Maintain accurate records related to operations, staffing, and basic reporting Qualifications Proven experience in a Restaurant Manager or Assistant Manager role in a busy restaurant Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Solid knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety practices Comfortable working on the floor during peak hours and leading by example Ability to stay organized and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment POS experience and basic computer skills (Excel/Word) are assets Able to provide references; criminal record check may be requested Preferred Certifications (Assets) Safe Food Handling / Food Safety certification Smart Serve (if applicable) First Aid / CPR WHMIS / Occupational Health & Safety training Customer Service Excellence certificate Working Conditions Fast-paced environment with peak service periods Standing and walking for extended periods Occasional lifting and handling supplies Combination of administrative work and on-floor leadership
