Job Description

VodaSafe dba AquaEye is a fast-growing company transforming the water rescue industry. Our flagship product, AquaEye, is a handheld sonar device that helps first responders locate drowning victims faster and more effectively. As we continue to expand our software products to augment our hardware products, we are looking for a full stack developer that can help us build new products and hit critical milestones.The Full Stack Developer will be reporting to the Software Product Manager and will be contributing to all parts of the full development lifecycle including: ideation, development, testing, release, and maintenance of our upcoming web platform. They will be working closely with the mobile development team to ensure that the web application seamlessly integrates with our mobile products while providing the best experience for our users.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESContribute to and maintain our web application for both client and server sideParticipate in the entire development lifecycle from feasibility, build, deploy, test, release, and supportWrite robust, scalable, and readable code that follow development best practicesEnsure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of our web platformIdentify and resolve usability and performance issuesCreate technical documentation that describes workflows, reasoning behind decisions, and new processes introducedEnsure application adheres to security best practicesCreate automated tests for the CICD pipeline for new features and functionality for smoother and faster releasesResolve bugs and identify technical improvements for continued support and maintain of the web platformFollow best practices for code versioning, unit testing, and CICDCollaborate with designers and mobile developer to ensure compatibility across all software productsDefine specs and requirements with the mobile engineer to ensure applications are using the same data structures and protocolsREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCEExperienceAt least 3 years of experience in developing full-stack web applicationsProficient in JavaScript frameworks for frontend (e.g. React or Angular) and backend (eg. NodeJS)Hands on experience with developing and creating RESTful APIsExperience with building within cloud platformsExperience in integrating with identity management tools (e.g. Auth0)Experience working with databases (relational, non-relational, and document based)Proven work in working with DevOps best practices and CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g. Jenkins)Ability to write clean, robust, and well-documented code using revision control systems (Git)Working in a fast-paced, changing and/or startup environments with small teams or independentlyExperience developing products with mobile integrationExperience developing products for a professional industryKnowledgeBachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering Physics or equivalent combination of skills and experienceKnowledge of web security best practices and authentication methodsKnowledge of containerization and orchestrationUnderstanding of web application architecture and design patternsExperience with mapping software (e.g. Mapbox) is a plusExperience with Agile is a plusExperience with BLE communication is a plusStrong written and oral communication skills with the ability to present ideas to technical and non-technical team membersDemonstrates an interest and enthusiasm in the product, industry, and mission of our companyComfortable in and around open waterCompensation and BenefitsAs a company we aim to build innovative technology that puts people and their lives first.
