This role is to provide expert ecological and environmental support across diverse projects by leading fieldwork, delivering highquality technical documentation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This position is integral to advancing sustainable solutions through accurate data analysis, effective client engagement, and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams. By mentoring junior staff and fostering strong client relationships, the role contributes to the successful execution of projects that prioritize safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence. This role is based at the Worley office in Vancouver, BC and involves a combination of office and field work. Responsibilities Prepare, coordinate, and review environmental permit and approval applications (e.g., BC provincial permits, municipal authorizations, federal approvals where applicable). Contribute to the development of regulatorycompliant mitigation measures, management plans, and monitoring programs. Support responses to regulatory information requests, conditions of approval, and compliance inquiries. Assist with regulatory compliance reviews during project execution and postapproval phases. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate regulatory and permitting requirements into project design and execution. Interpret and apply BC environmental legislation, regulations, and guidance to project planning, field programs, and reporting. Liaise with regulatory agencies (e.g., BC ministries, local governments, federal regulators) to support permitting, compliance, and approvals processes. Participate in fieldwork, including leading field staff (preference to marine, wildlife, vegetation and aquatic/fisheries field experience). Data analysis, entry and contribution to wildlife, vegetation, wetland, aquatic, and fisheries technical reports, workplans, and proposals. Client management, including communication through verbal and written correspondence. Responsible for personal safety and the safe working practices and understand and follow Worley occupational health and safety procedures. Work independently, or as part of multidisciplinary teams. Assist, guide, or mentor less experienced team members to develop their technical and project skills. Develop and maintain relationships with clients. Travel as required for various projects. Qualifications Technical and Industry Experience Intermediatelevel experience working in terrestrial and aquatic ecology consulting. Experience with applicable legislation pertaining to marine, wildlife, vegetation and aquatics in Western Canada. Possess the terrestrial and/or aquatic ecology technical skills and regulatory knowledge for various projects. Experience conducting ecological field surveys (e.g., intertidal assessments, wildlife surveys, vegetation assessments, ecosite classification surveys, and fish and fish habitat surveys). Experience with underwater acoustic monitoring equipment (hydrophones) or ROVs would be an asset. Experience installing and maintaining remote wildlife cameras and autonomous recording units would be an asset. Excellent communication, organization and time management skills. Professional experience in industries such as ports and marine terminals, LNG, pipelines, upstream/downstream oil and gas facilities, mining, infrastructure, and renewable energies within BC, would be an asset. Strong interpersonal, management and leadership skills. Strong technical writing skills. Selfstarter and flexible team player. Ability to work within a team environment. Strong analytical and problemsolving skills. Education Qualifications, Accreditation, Training Bachelors or masters degree in science, environmental resource management, or equivalent experience. Professional Biologist or ability to obtain R.P. Bio designation or relevant provincial agrology designation. For applicants based in the province of British Columbia, the salary range is $55,914 to $99,078.
