Job Description (Duties) Work assignments may take place at various industrial sites across Alberta. Transportation or LOA (Living Out Allowance) may be provided depending on project requirements. Pipefitters at AG&P Canada will: Lay out, assemble, fabricate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair piping systems carrying water, steam, chemicals, and/or fuel in heating, cooling, lubricating, and other process piping systems Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout and installation requirements Cut openings in walls, floors, and ceilings to install piping systems Select appropriate materials, sizes, and fittings based on project requirements Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools Join piping sections by welding, brazing, soldering, cementing, or threading joints Install supports, valves, piping systems, and control assemblies Test systems for leaks and ensure compliance with safety and code standards Clean, maintain, and flush piping systems; remove and replace worn components as required Prepare basic cost estimates or material lists when necessary Qualifications Completion of apprenticeship program or trade certification (Red Seal preferred). Minimum 3-5 years of relevant industrial work experience. Valid Journeyperson or Apprenticeship certificate. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and isometric drawings. Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping systems.
